I finally saw a doctor today for my slowly worsening knee pain. She said I've got ITBS, which makes sense. The annoying is that I may have caused the injury in a way I never would have suspected. I've been trying for a couple of months to slowly correct an everted foot. So when I walk, I've been placing it in line, toe straight forward, or nearly so. I made sure the heel struck first, then the middle, then the toe.
Apparently trying to walk more normally--according to my doctor--has screwed things up worse than if I'd ignored the eversion in the first place. Blah.
Good news is, after 2-4 weeks of exercises and stretches, if it actually is ITBS, it should be on its way out.
